Paul Grimshaw
VP & Executive Producer of Commercials, The Orphanage

Leveraging extensive work in commercial production and high-end computer graphics, Paul Grimshaw joined The Orphanage in August 2002 to establish its commercial and music video division. Since his arrival, The Orphanage Commercial Division name has become synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation. Confirming his leading position in the industry through The Orphanage's work with the top agencies and production companies, Grimshaw has lead the company through its creation of a ever-increasing number of award winning spots.

Previously an Executive Producer of Industrial Light + Magic’s commercial division, Grimshaw originally joined ILM eight years earlier as Computer Graphics Operations Manager. He quickly rose to Head of Interactive Production and Head of Commercial Production before becoming executive producer in 1999. During his tenure, the company received high recognition for its groundbreaking work on spots for First Union Bank, Gatorade, Budweiser and XM Satellite Radio, among other clients.

Grimshaw transitioned to ILM from Santa Monica-based Calypso Films, a commercial production company he co-founded which developed new directorial talent in the areas of contemporary visuals, comedy/dialogue & food/tabletop. Before Calypso, Grimshaw was Executive Producer at Dream Quest Images, establishing and managing its commercial division which, during his four-year tenure, produced such groundbreaking work such as the “Fahrvergnügen” campaigns for Volkswagen. He began his career in the visual effects business in Hollywood starting as an effects cameraman and later went on to
supervise the production of many live action/visual effects commercials.

A native of England, Grimshaw studied at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, where he earned his B.A. in commercial photography.
