Joel Simon
Owner & President, JSM Music

Joel Simon, 38, is President/CEO of JSM Music, Inc. (www.jsmmusic.com). Operating in it's 20,000 square foot state of the art Manhattan facility as well as its facility in LA, over the years JSM has been turning TV music inside out, pulling it toward the most exciting fringes of popular culture. Early in 2004, JSM formed a separate unique joint venture with Artemis Records (www.artemisrecords.com), the largest independent label in the country by sales. Artemis/JSM LLC is proving to be the perfect mechanism on breaking the artists of tomorrow, reintroducing artists from the past and pointing artists toward totally new paths to success. The unique conduit of talent and resources has proven to afford JSM¹s clients more creative and financial benefits than ever imagined. Artemis/JSM has full distribution through Musicrama, which is now based in JSM's facility. In addition, JSM has formed alliances with major publishing entities including SONY ATV, in addition to partnership deals with Daimler Chrysler and BBDO among others. JSM has released "Unleashed', a mash-up of Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog" and Chris Classic's "Live and Loose" which was featured on the campaign for the 2005 Dodge Charger via BBDO Detroit. The hit is available on Yahoo Music Match and will be on iTunes October 11, 2005. Full album release is set for November 1, 2005. In addition, JSM's remake of "Magic Carpet Ride" featuring Jeffrey Gaines is currently on high rotation on New York's WPLJ and all 50 ABC radio stations throughout the country.

In 1989 after graduating magna cum laude with a business management and marketing degree from Cornell University, Joel, a schooled musician, producer and singer, bypassed his law school enrollment to follow his dream of making a career in music production.

JSM maintains a large diverse staff of award winning composers, sound designers and arrangers. JSM received the honor of being awarded a 2004 AICP music award for the Michael Bey directed Chevrolet "Car Carrier". In addition, in 2005 JSM was awarded a slew of awards for its work by the AICP, One Show, Advertising Age Hispanic Awards and many others.

Capitalizing on the current state of the downsizing of the recording industry, JSM has tapped into an exciting growing talent base to introduce and work with it's advertising clients. Recent work at JSM included artists Kittie, Nazareth, Steve Earle, Jeffrey Gaines, Chris Classic, Nazareth, Joe Budden, Fabolous, Lofey, Ali Dee, John Leguizamo, among others. Recently JSM had songs on the the soundtracks of films "The Fantastic Four" and "Mr. And Mrs. Smith."
