Chuck McBride
Executive Creative Director, TBWA/Chiat/Day, North America
Chuck began his career in advertising as a copywriter in San Diego working with the San Diego Zoo. Chuck soon moved north to Los Angeles where he worked at Team One Advertising. His role was to position and establish the Lexus brand and help create market share for the product in a very cluttered category.
Chuck stayed in the automotive space for quite some time, creating campaigns with Subaru at Wieden & Kennedy/Philadelphia and then Isuzu at Goodby, Silverstien & Partners. After Chuck finished his “ride,” he helped create one of most successful branding movements to date with the launch of the “Got Milk?” campaign. The campaign’s phenomenal success led to a host of other brand opportunities with flagship brands such as Levi’s and Sega at Foote, Cone and Belding, and Nike and Powerbar at Wieden & Kennedy/ Portland.
Everything that Chuck touched produced iconic, brand building advertising that sold product and even a few can be found on permanent exhibit in the New York Museum of Modern Art. Chuck’s career over the past ten years has earned him every major industry award and recently, he received an Emmy for the Nike “Morning After” spot.
He was also named MVP in 2001 by AdWeek Magazine. |
