Pat Joseph
Managing Director Pat Joseph founded Oscar winning post production facility
The Mill 10 years ago with present chairman James Morris and chief executive
Robin Shenfield.
Robin Shenfield and Pat Joseph were part of the original group that founded
The Mill in 1990. The pair met in 1986 whilst working at Rushes and have
worked closely over the past twelve years in the success of The Mill.
The Mill is one of the largest, most respected and broad ranging providers
of digital content in the world. Founded in 1990 as a technology-based
creative service, The Mill produces content for advertising across all
existing, new media and broadband platforms.
Mill Film was launched in 1997 to concentrate on visual effects for film and
four years later won a Visual Effects Oscar for work on Ridley Scott's Roman
epic 'Gladiator'.
With bases within Soho, London, Shepperton Studios, and Los Angeles the
companies combine superior digital effects talent and
technical strength with vast experience in visual effects supervision.
Mill's Shepperton base houses Mill Motion Control, Mill Models and part of
the Mill Film visual effects team. Soho is the home of The Mill, Mill Film
and the newly launched Mill/lab, the group's interactive division. Over
the last two years, The Mill has also been pioneering the delivery of
digital media via the internet with emill and www.beam.tv.
In February 2001 original Mill founders Robin Shenfield, Pat Joseph and
James Morris bought the company from outside investors for a sum of
£25million.
