Brian Carmody

A native of Skibbereen, Co. Cork, Ireland, who's knee injury ended a professional soccer career led me to I arriving in LA expecting to journey the world. I'm still in LA. That was April of '94. A masters in Psychology led to a junior PA position at Propanganda Films. After a year I moved to NY to become a junior rep for Satellite under the wise guidance of Sarah Holbrook. She sent me back to LA a year later as a senior. I went on to become the head of sales for Satellite Films which is a bollocks of a job at any company! Responsibility is a over rated irregularity of the ego. Regarding advertising, I've great faith in the power of creativity. I've little in agencies who don't stand up for quality work they are capable of producing. My pet peeve is the dumbing down of the viewer which is insulting to state the obvious, by repeated viewing of crap on TV. Tivo's got a bright future if this continues!!

Huge kudos to my teachers; Josh Taft, Spike Jonze, Vince Landay, Jhoan Camitz (god rest him) Sarah, Brian Beletic and the many creatives and producers who have shared their knowledge and ideas at will. Huge kudos to the those who thought me what not to do by watching their actions and listening to their BS, no names mentioned here. I sincerely wish the best to all in getting through this current speed bump in our business and change is damn good.
