Brent Backhaus
Brent Backhaus is Assistant Chief Technology Officer for WAM!NET Inc. In this role, he carries responsibility for shaping the future technology direction of WAM!NET's global network, data storage and hosting services infrastructure.
He also works directly with WAM!NET's global customer base, including many of the world's largest digital content owners, producers and distributors, to integrate WAM!NET's content delivery and hosting services.
Since joining WAM!NET in April 2000, Backhaus has been instrumental in providing technical guidance and support to sales, marketing and operations, and in securing new partnerships and customer wins, including the $6.9 billion NMCI contract with EDS.
Prior to WAM!NET, Backhaus was an Application Engineer in Silicon Graphics' (SGI) Product Manufacturing sector. In this role, he helped to shape numerous automotive and consumer electronic mechanical designs. As an SGI design engineer, Backhaus introduced new design paradigms utilizing solid modeling and finite element analysis to companies such as John Deere, Caterpillar, Case Corp., Motorola, Pratt & Whitney, and Allied Signal.
Backhaus holds BSME and MSME degrees from MIT.
